Ernie,
I have already reported this bug top Jim Riesert. It also
appears
to occur in Ver 9.26 .
I found a workaround you can use.
My patch assumes the Novice Station will not have a radio that is
computer interfaced to the computer and CT program. If they do then you
probably won't need this fix.
When you load the program and get to the window that asks which radio you
are using for Radio 1, go ahead and select a radio, even though the
Novice station
is NOT using the computer/radio interface. FYI, I selected Kenwood
TS-940,
I don't think it matters. then for Radio2 select None and continue thru
rest of
windows and when U get to the SETUP window for TNCs, Baud Rates etc,
DO NOT radio on any of the COM ports, It's Ok to SETUP a TNC if they
happen to be using one for spots for any reason.
Now when you get into main program window, when you hit
ALT-F1 or F2 the Band Highlight will stay in the 80N, 40N etc.
You will probably see some error message flash at the bottom of
the
window under your callsign entries so just ignore them as the program
is looking for that radio you said you had hooked up!
Now the Caveat here is that I haven't run a whole FD log and
won't
guarantee the program won't bomb after 200 Qs etc. So make sure the
Novices
backup to floppy at least every 15 minutes by typing SAVELOG in the call
field
(Of course type AUTOSAVE in callfield at beginning of contest so you get
an auto-save every hour automatically).
Good luck!
