Yes, we ran 4A with a network and had similar problems.
On 10 meters, it said "out of band" but I found that if
you switch to Radio 2, you could log on 10 meters.
The VHF/UHF bands were useless. To log on 6 meteres, we had to log the
band as 222 MHz. I am not sure what happened on 432 or 2 meters, but
I heard that it was nothing but a headache...didn't stop us from making
Q's, just logging them :-) !!
