CT ver 8 with Omni VI..How?

I am posting this for a friend....how can CT ver 8.x be made to work with
a Ten-Tec Omni VI??  Supposedly, others are doing it using one of the Icom
radios as the rig choice but my friend has had no luck....any ideas?
