I had a file going for this same question with the various articles
seen the last few years since I got my TS-440. Finally found it a
couple weeks ago and found the interface I was going to make (and am
currently in the process of putting together). It is from QST
September 1991 (addendum December 1991 with later correction to
addendum of pin 5 and 2 NOT to be connected together in the 6 pin DIN
Radio connector). Very simple circuit. I will add ferrite beads,
etc. because RF is a killer for electronics working properly.

I am looking for an interface I can build between my Kenwood TS-440
and my PC for CT. I have the chips for the 440, but now I need to
find a TTL to RS-232 interface.
Anyone have a simple circuit?
Thanks,
John Fischer, KB9GEG
