Every serious contester loses QSO's for not being in the other station's
log. There are a variety of ways this can occur such as them working
someone else on the same frequency, sometimes during a fast rates they may
not be sure that you copied their report or got their callsign correct or
they may have accidently wiped out the QSO before logging it. I certainly
have typed over an unentered callsign and had to try to fix it in the heat
of the battle. Operating assisted or on RTTY, it's easy to click on a call
and wipe out the one already in your QSO window that you forgot to log. I
don't use N1MM, I wonder how you contributed this to an N1MM feature?
Regardless of the cause for NIL, this is a good reason to work all dupes
should they happen call again later in the contest!

For a couple of years now, I am checking the UBN file supplied by the
Contest Sponsors against my audio recordings, public LOGs and my own LOG.
I am shocked to discover how many good QSO's in my LOG are ending up being
marked "Not In LOG" and I am being penalized for that (I'm sure others
getting it too).
While some casual operators are submitting incomplete LOGs, the most common
problem contributing to NIL is... well known feature in the N1MM Logger:
"QSYing wipes out the call...".
Maybe other Loggers have similar feature too.
If you are doing mostly S&P'ing, please... PLEASE... disable that feature
for the Contest. No matter how good you are, there will be a moment when
after making a QSO you would forget to hit Enter. And there you go - good
QSO would just disappear when you charge your frequency.
Not only you lose a perfect QSO (very often, a multiplier), but you also
penalize the other party, who thinks he made a good QSO.
Thank you!
