For a couple of years now, I am checking the UBN file supplied by the Contest
Sponsors against my audio recordings, public LOGs and my own LOG.
I am shocked to discover how many good QSO's in my LOG are ending up being
marked "Not In LOG" and I am being penalized for that (I'm sure others getting
it too).
While some casual operators are submitting incomplete LOGs, the most common
problem contributing to NIL is... well known feature in the N1MM Logger:
"QSYing wipes out the call...".
Maybe other Loggers have similar feature too.
If you are doing mostly S&P'ing, please... PLEASE... disable that feature for
the Contest. No matter how good you are, there will be a moment when after
making a QSO you would forget to hit Enter. And there you go - good QSO would
just disappear when you charge your frequency.
Not only you lose a perfect QSO (very often, a multiplier), but you also
penalize the other party, who thinks he made a good QSO.
Thank you!
73, Yuri VE3DZ (TO4A this weekend)
