Good morning,
Hopefully this is not news to anyone, but the world's largest and most
popular operating event, the CQ WW SSB contest, will be taking place this
weekend (October 28-29 UTC). You are encouraged to join in the fun and to
submit a log via cqww.com/logcheck/.
A few reminders:
* Self-spotting is not permitted for any category in the CQ WW.
* Watch the quality of your signal. We have significantly improved our SDR
listening capabilities this year and will be specifically reviewing
bad/wide audio cases after the contest, some of which may be subject to
disqualification.
* The assisted and unassisted single operator categories remain separate in
the CQ WW. Review the rules for a clear definition of each.
The most important aspect of the contest is to simply obey the rules and
have fun. Hopefully the sun will cooperate this weekend and provide amazing
conditions.
Lastly, I encourage you to take a few minutes to review the rules, which
can be found in 19 languages at cqww.com/rules.htm. And, as always, if you
have questions before or after the contest, don't hesitate to write at
https://cqww.com/contact/ for a prompt response.
Good luck in the contest!
73, John, K1AR
CQ WW Contest Director
