There's no such thing as a splice connector to connect two different
sizes of Heliax. There used to be such a device for splicing two pieces
of the same size, but no longer.
However, why not install a female connector on the 7/8", and a male on
the 1/2"? You can choose between N or 7-16 DIN. I know RFI is now making
1/2" UHF connectors, not sure about 7/8" UHF.
My choice would be to use the 7/16 DIN connectors - they are stronger
mechanically, better electrically (especially for UHF), and
theoretically weatherproof, though I'd highly recommend using auxiliary
weatherproofing.

Does anyone know if there is an adapter made for Andrews 7/8" hardline to
Andrews 1/2" hardline? How about the same using coax DIN connectors? I have
never used them but they get good reviews.
I have several smaller runs of Andrews 7/8" hardline and a large spool of
Andrews 1/2" harline and would like to connect them together for (2) 300ft
runs..
Any other thoughts or comments?
