Greetings Diddlers,
If I didn’t know any better, the turnout for our little get together last week
would confirm the resurgence of RTTY! Wow! A full 15 stations reporting with
a couple more I know were on but didn’t post. A big welcome to Kent, KH6CJJ,
who I’m sure needs to introduction to this group. Kent was lurking on 20
meters and worked all he could before everyone moved to 40. Hopefully 20
meters will come alive a bit more and we can keep Kent busy for a longer time.
Imagine if we get 15 meters back! Welcome to all and let’s keep the group
building and bring RTTY back to the glory days!
And speaking of big RTTY turnouts, the upcoming weekend is one of the biggies:
CQWW WPX RTTY. A true contest where you have to do something more than catch a
callsign. Note that there will be two WPX practice sessions on Thursday before
our get together:
2100-2130 UTC, Thursday, 11 February
0100-0130 UTC, Friday, 12 February (Thursday evening NA time)
So warm up everything a few hours earlier than usual and jump in. For those of
you who are going to make the practice sessions but are not normally around on
Thursday evenings, stick around for a bit and jump into our little ditty. We
love to have new stations and especially some new and rare multipliers! You
might like it so much you’ll be back every week.
