It depends on your software, and on whether you are using FSK or AFSK.
If you are using FSK, your radio's receiver will be on the lower sideband
regardless of what band you are on, and your software needs to be set
accordingly.
In AFSK, using a sound card to generate the RTTY tones, it is entirely up
to the software which sideband you use. MMTTY is programmed to use LSB by
default on all bands. There is a "Rev." button that reverses the tones if
you have to use your rig in USB. Fldigi, on the other hand, uses USB by
default on all bands.
You will be able to tell - if you are on the wrong sideband, received text
will look like nonsense, even when receiving a clean signal.
