Back in my Navy communications days (pre-internet) the term “reflector” was
synonymous with “collective address” --- a single callsign like “XYKD” (made up
for illustration) might mean “all ships in Sixth Fleet” or “all ships in
Destroyer Squadron 22”.

"Reflector" is a term I've heard only in ham circles. I suppose that
it has to do with likeness to an antenna reflector.
