Excellent turnout last week with 14 stations reporting. A big NS welcome to
NN5O and VY0ERC (VE3KTB in disguise) who jumped right in like seasoned
veterans. And NS CW veteran N8EA was back after a several year absence.
Welcome all and I hope we can keep you engaged in future events.
With the new stations getting into the Sprint family, I get questions about
“Why is everyone using different exchanges at different times?”. The exchange
sequences are perhaps the weirdest part of Sprinting, but there is a method to
the madness. Ken, N6RO wrote an excellent explanation of the exchange
sequences and how the proper exchanges really improve QSO flow in “Secrets of
RTTY Sprinting”. The article is available on the rttycontesting.com site, and
is a great reference for old timers and new stations alike.
