I know that back in the days when recording of autopatches was "a good
idea" to protect possible "commercial use", one group with which I was
associated used a stereo recorder, feeding the audio from the autopatch
in one side, and a 'talking clock" input into the other side.
That was 1970's/80's technology. Now a daze, if CQ wants better proof
of compliance with rules, they COULD require a video/audio recording of
the dial of the rig, with a clock visible in the same frame, plus, of
course, audio as part of he video recording.

because they'd not be in contention for top prizes, but this would be
more definitive than audio recording.
This would be late 1900's technology.
But, it's a "Sad Day @ black rock" when contest sponsors have to propose
and enforce such onerous requirements because they (and probably most of
the contest operating community) believe that cheating is rampant
amongst the top operators.

p.s. Only "first place" certificates I ever get for large contests is
when I'm the only operator intelligent enough?.... stupid enough? (take
your personal choice of which) to run 5 watts or less in the division,
call area, etc. So, I'm NEVER competitive in any major way. :)
