At 0900Z on Wednesday, the RBN server team will begin a brief planned
outage of the RBN's web site. Over the next 3-7 hours, they will
install significant new back end components for the RBN server, to
provide improved performance and reliability.
The RBN's Telnet feed will continue normally while they work on the back
end. Several weeks ago, we made a change in the internal data flow of
the server, aimed to improve the Telnet service's reliability and
timeliness. Test results since then suggest that this has been
achieved, though of course the high spot rate of CQWW CW will be the
acid test.
