In the very first ARRL Sweepstakes, in 1930, winner W1ADW made 153 QSO's with 43 of the 68 possible ARRL sections. In 1930 the sweepstakes lasted 2 solid weeks starting January 18. I am never going to complain about Sunday again! Read more in the May 1930 QST.
