Who cares about "world high score?" It's a big planet. How many contacts you
can make in a DX contest is all about skip zones and distance to population
centers and the stupid sunspot cycle.
The Japanese learned this 40 years ago, when droves of low power entry-class
licensees got on 15 Meters and worked big guns on the U.S. West Coast. Then
they came to their senses and found something more interesting to do, like
watching paint dry.
Multi-multi and M2 have become an arms race, it seems -- how much money can be
poured into renting or buying land, building a station, and transporting dozens
of contesters there, to a forsaken place where nobody would actually live.
