Tonno has some very valid points.
Let us follow the rules and all will be fine.
It is no worse to choose a category beforehand than to choose it when
submitting a log. I was considering trying to attack the Zone 26 All Time
SOABHP Unassisted record (XU7AAV) but realized before the contest even
started that this was not realistic with SFI around 100.
The second best choice was to aim for the Assisted record (E21EIC). I doubt
if my claimed score will survive log-checking against that one, but at
least I keep my fingers crossed. If not, then I'd better prepare myself
more next time.
Did that cunning planning of mine make me a cheater? In my honest opinion,
I do not think so...
Nobody requires a MM station to operate 6 bands continuously during 48
hours, and CR3L can decide themselves which of the two categories they wish
to submit their log into.
Those who feel that CR3L did something wrong - either try to make CQWW CC
change the rules which requires every one to fix category beforehand - or
try to beat CR3L next year in MM, M2 or M/S, or any category they will
participate in. It is all part of the game to be a little cunning in
contesting, as long as we play by the rules. Wrestlers eat 3 kilo of beef
or sit in the sauna for hours before they show their weight and qualify for
a certain weight class.
