QST, Avast, and Yarrr, me Hearties! The long-awaited email announcing the
2015 Pirate QSO Party has arrived!
Date & Time: Tues. September 22nd, 2015, 5:30pm to 8:30pm PST (UTC:
September 23rd, 2015, 0:30 to 3:30)
Frequencies: 15, 20, and 40 meters SSB
For those who missed all the commotion last year, the Pirate QSO Party is
a short, light-hearted contest which is always on or near Talk Like A
Pirate Day (Sep. 19). The rules are rather complicated, and include unique
features of tradable "doubloons"; the fact that that operators are split
up into two "factions"; a walk-the-plank QSY rule similar to sprint
contests; and the encouragement of silliness and pirate talk. The top
pirate in each category will be sent a certificate and a token of pirate
booty.
