Hans, I agree but would one other element. Find ways to tilt the playing field
to my advantage and to focus efforts in those contests where the tilt is
already geographically favored.
WPX, IARU, SS, Sprint, and NAQP are all great contests providing a much
different opportunity to many US contesters to “blow the doors” off of us W1
crowd. Folks should either acknowledge that and take advantage of it, or not
complain when their “favorite contest” gets leveled.

Except for the very limited example of WRTC it is likely impossible to have a
"level playing field".
At the risk of launching a pool-pah (Google "bokonism"), let me posit that the
hidden goal of every "Very Serious Contester" ought to be "find a way within
the rules to tilt the playing field to my advantage".

you actually need to be able to COPY something. Confounds the "fie nigh foe"
crowd.
Besides, Charly and most of the rest of the world are ineligible to play, so
