A reminder from IARU Region 1 HF Commitee as there been out of band
operation during previous CQ WW contests in 160m band.
Operators in ITU Region 1 are reminded that on 160m the amateur service
allocation starts at 1810 kHz, not at 1800 kHz like in the Region 2 and
Region 3.
The frequency band 1800 - 1810 kHz is not allowed to be used by amateurs in
Region 1 (Europe, Africa, parts of Asia) .
Stations in Region 2 and 3 transmitting below 1810 kHz should eventually
announce a second frequency (QSX 18nn) where they expect calls from Region 1
for split-QSOs.
In the rules of CQWW contests one can read:
Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Examples of unsportsmanlike conduct include, but
are not limited to:
2. Transmissions by the entrant on frequencies outside of license
limitations.
