I agree 100% it is a contest that you must copy what is sent. And also
agree about first old timers. I got my License in September of 1975 my
Novice.
No radio yet but the newly formed club invited all to participate in SS
and a members house. I and my co novice test buddy was wb9sbc said sure
never been on the radio yet but sounds fun,
he and I got the graveyard shift. like 2 AM to sunup. I'll still to
this day will never ever forget how much fun it was!!! I know better
now,, How can that shift be fun? But to two newly licenced novices to
be able to run phone with yagis and all that, what a blast!

Hi All,
I think this contest is a favorite of many hams when they got started
in the hobby... I worked my first SS in the late 70's.. The SS uses
those familiar "Prec" and "CK" headings that we used so many times in
the traffic nets. It seems is that the lengthy and "odd" exchange is
not a favorite of the "newer" generation of hams. I "grew-up" with the
Nov SS and have always enjoyed working it. This is a not a "speed"
contest, it's all about accuracy... Frankly, I like the "personal"
touch that the "ck" adds to the exchange.
By the way, I wish I had a nickel for every "?" I receive after
sending my WN4 callsign..

It really isn't very obvious to me, as the phone weekend has a

It is very obvious that the influx of all the No-Coders don't do CW
since since 81 there is little activity.
