Thanks John, Georges, Jacques and Pete for your answers.

I think I have it clear now.

I know that being an HQ station will not help me with my score, but as my 
participation will be time limited, it does not matter.
Even with only one QSO I can end first in my country sometime...

I have no linear here (well not above 100w) so I will only operate CW.
If I can operate through the night and propagation is good perhaps I will go on 
SSB for a time but that's very unlikely.

I am not sure there will be other HQ stations in VN.
There are some foreigners that are keen contesters but I don't know how is 
registered their station.
The other locals I know that have a "club station" are not contesters.
XV2B told me about IARU HF a few weeks ago but I don't know if he will have 
time to participate.
