Well,as the saying goes, "Easy to do is easy to say." Recording 7 x 192
KHz bands generates about 1.3 terabytes of data over a 48-hour contest.
We did it last fall, and the only really practical way to move the data
from the recording stations to the contest adjudicators was by mailing
the disk drives.
CW Skimmer's waterfall is quite wonderful, but Skimmer Server, VE3NEA's
variant for simultaneous Skimming with the QS1R receiver, does not have
a waterfall.

Well, if we're talking about CW Skimmer itself and not the RBN, the CW
Skimmer waterfall display would clearly show if simultaneous CQ's were
being sent by the same station. You could even, of course, record an
entire contest and play it back later to look for such behavior if the
RBN spots were to raise suspicions. All it would require is that the
CW Skimmers feeding the RBN be set up to record.

Sorry, Charly, but the only way to do that is to review multi-band
time-stamped recordings - otherwise you can'tbe sure that the
transmissions overlap. CW Skimmer software is cumulative, so exactly
when a spot is sent is not an indication of precisely when the
station was heard.
The use of multi-band recordings is in its infancy, but much like
radar in police cars, I expect that its presence will actually deter
abuses.

The first advantage I can think of for the Skimmer is that it is now
possible to see that some stations are CQing on two bands at exactly
the
same moment in time.
I am surprised that some are not showing up as being on three or
more bands
at the same moment. Contesting has gone further into the pig lot.
