I personally think that 8 days is a much better balance for this. The
Monday morning after the next weekend following the contest. I often end up
travelling for business right after these contests because I purposely avoid
doing so the week before. Its burdensome to deal with submission before the
next weekend.
I also think that it should be accompanied by a reduction in time for
official results being posted. Just like modern logging programs and the
internet allow a faster log submission deadline, so should the results
appearing.
