I meant that real time logging will deal problems with contest logging in
general, particularly after the contest is over but logs have yet to be
submitted. So it is nice to see the ARRL implement it in a contest. I hope that
they expand its use where appropriate. Advantages I see are:
1. Immediate feedback as to whether or not a contact is valid.
2. No time for modifications to logs or editing of logs after the contest is
over. What you enter during the contest is what you get.
3. No category shopping.
4. No more requests for recordings of CW skimmer on the CQ_Contest list. :^)=
5. No more waiting months for results; they will be available immediately after
the contest is over.
Other than not being able to enter the contest without a computer and internet
access, I don't see any down side to this. With the oft heard laments on this
list of the aging of the contesters and the decline in contesting, I think that
this is at least an attempt to inject new blood into contesting, and I think
that is good. - Duffey
