I agree!
To this day I still have the fondest of memories of my first SS. Newly
licensed as of September of 1975, my local club invited myself and my
buddy to come and operate.
We thought way cool, being crystal controlled and 75 watts, and CW
only to be able to operate with a KW on SSB with a tower and beams,
YOU BET WE WILL BE THERE! Little did we know or at that time understand
they gave us the graveyard shift, and were stuck on 80 and 40 most of
the night, but everything being still brand new we still had a blast
and still to this day remember how much fun it was.
