Hello all:
This is a reminder that this weekend will be the Georgia QSO Party,
April 11 and 12. Georgia has the second highest number of counties in
all the states with 159 counties (TX has 254). The sponsors, SECC and
SEDXC, with a lot of help from others, now have commitments for activity
from all 159 counties. Last year, W9IU came close to the sweep, working
154 counties (and only 158 were active). There will be a lot of mobile
activity on both phone and CW, as well as portable and fixed station
activity. Small counties mean that mobiles can cross county lines and
become "new stations" very quickly. Please join in the fun and work GA
stations this weekend to the extent that your other commitments permit.
A large line up of plaques, certificates, and "bonus prizes" are being
awarded, as usual. For full information, see http://gqp.contesting.com,
including rover routes, a free GQP logger, county abbreviations, etc.
Any questions to me or to the GQP coordinator, NE4S. ne4s@iham.us.
Note that 160 and 6 meters contacts are now permitted. I hope to hear
many of you over this weekend in the Georgia QSO Party. 73, John, K4BAI.
