Hi all,
I recently bought a Dell Win XP with Raid 1 - mirrored hard drives, without
any antivirus or backup sofrtware.
In the past I have used Norton Systemworks with varying degrees of success/
disaster - but the Norton Go Back (used to be Roxio Go Back) has been
invaluable
in allowing me to revert the harddrive to an earlier time.
I want Go Back but I understand that there are serious possible issues with
the
rest of the Norton "suite" of products.
I do not believe that Norton Ghost automatically makes a disk image
of hard drive so that you can revert your hard drive to "undo" whatever
program you lost or software glitch you picked up. If that is true, it
would seem that
Norton Go Back is more useful for me.
I need a RELIABLE antivirus/utilitity program with something that provides
the functions of Go Back - and it needs to "play well together" with the
other
antivirus/utilities/software programs, and hopefully does not slow the
computer down.
Can anyone suggest what works best in a WIN XP environment?
I fear using two or three different programs from different software vendors
to accomplish this - most software that I have seen does not "play well"
together.
Ths computer will be used for business and contesting software applications.
I have spent many , many hours resading various reviews of many different
products
with the usual galaxy of varied replies, erroneous information and
comparisons of grapefruits
to basketballs. It is very confusing, frustrating and I am no further along
than before.
I would appreciate any thoughtful and knowledgeable replies. Thanks!
