Bob,
You're preaching to the choir here, so I've cc'ed this message to the
CQ-Contest reflector where the contesting community hangs out!

Subject: [ARRL-LOTW] LoTW - contesting
I do a lot of contesting. I'm not very good at it, but still make a lot of
qso's - mostly in "search and pounce" mode. If allowed, I normally use
packet clusters. My cluster program (Spotcollector/DxLAB) highlights any
spots which are LoTW users.
Guess which stations are VERY high on my list to work? You got it - the LoTW
guys. Since I'm in Delaware, I often represent a semi-rare multiplier and
extra points. I would imagine there are many casual contesters who also
place a priority on LoTW "friendly" stations.
It would be great if we could get the word out to the contesting community
that LoTW participation has fringe benefits - better scores.
