I substituted 4-led bayonet base bulbs from
http://superbrightleds.com/specs/ba9s.htm
model BA9S-W. They are white, not yellow, actually like the looks
better, and also not quite as bright, but substantial!
Not cheap but I'll never have to replace them again.
