One should still make an effort to get those
multipliers and often that means installing an antenna
only to make 2-3 QSOs on that band. Certainly the M/M
stations are the likely candidates to be worked for
these multipliers as they may have a RUN station ON
for 48 hours. Who else those doing S&P will be working
otherwise?
Sometimes I am getting surprised by how many
suggestions coming up on this reflector aimed to
change the rules. Really these 48 hours are to enjoy
ham radio for many (probably for the most), not sure
if any effort shall be made to minimize hours of
operation or give automatic QSO credit. It does not
seem that the majority of participants even care about
their rating in the results table as they don't even
send the logs, while many submit the logs simply to
support the contest.
