Hello,
part two of WWDX 06-Operation-time statistics, now with the CW-leg (agn
tnx to Michael, DL6MHW, for calculating the times with his software):
2651 Single Operator Allband logs done
Average Op-Times:
14,5 hours (off-time defined as more than 10 minutes without qso)
16,0 hours (>15 minutes for off-time)
16,8 hours (>20 minutes for off-time)
17,4 hours (>25 minutes for off-time)
17,9 hours (>30 minutes for off-time)
The 14,5 hour-average is significantly longer than in the SSB-leg when
it was 11,3 hours (a similar result with longer CW-times was also once
calculated for RDXC). Reasons to be discussed peacefully ;-)
73 participants (2,8%) operated longer than 40 hours compared to 35
(1,4%) in the SSB-part.
19,1 percent operated longer than 24 hours halftime. In the SSB-part the
percent was only 9,5.
Respectively 80,9 percent stayed below halftime in the CW-event.
Grouped in 6-hour-periods activity looks such:
42-48 hours - 1,9%
36-42 hours - 3,2%
30-36 hours - 6,2%
24-30 hours - 7,9%
18-24 hours - 11,8%
12-18 hours - 18,8%
6-12 hours - 25,3%
0- 6 hours - 24,9%
The hourwise distributions and a graph comparing SSB and CW can be found
at the lower end of http://www.dl8mbs.de/40984/45289.html
On this page I hope to add some further statistics in the next weeks.
I´m always interested in ideas for further analyzes of operation
pattern. I.e. I will have a look at the nightowl-activity and perhaps
some regional differences. In the SSB-part US-stations operated an
average time of 10,1 hours compared to the 11,3
overall average.
Thanks for reading and best 73, Chris
