I'm taking a break from the JARTS RTTY Contest and catching up on email and
surfing the 'net for entertainment.
There was a discussion regarding state and oblast abbreviations on the
CQ-Contest reflector earlier this week. Tonight I stumbled onto a website that
illustrate just how "localized" our knowledge of geography really is. But being
we're all big time Contesters and DXers, we probably have a deeper depth of
knowledge than the average Joe/Jane off the street.
Try this website: http://www.lizardpoint.com/fun/geoquiz/usaquiz.html
It will test your knowledge of the physical location of our 50 states. It keeps
score. I got 46 out of 50, having my trouble with the NE part of our country.
Okay, so you've tested your knowledge with the USA... now try your hand with
Africa, Asia, Europe, or any of the dozen or so maps on this site. Maybe your
kids would enjoy playing with this site too.
... now where was Mozambique located again???...
