With regard to manufacturers "sponsoring" line score listings in QST - this
is not so far fetched an idea. Now in the QST Sweepstakes writes ICOM has a
box prominently displayed at the top of the article as "Principal Awards
Sponsor." They sponsor about 80 plaques at about $50 a pop or $4000. How
much is the incremental break-even cost for a page in QST? Line scores took
3 pages. Who at ARRL HQ made the deal with ICOM? Would ICOM or YAESU pop for
the additional $$$ a few times a year to be "Principal Line Score Sponsor?"
