Good day, all:
I am continuing to make it easier to add DOS to a WindowsXP
computer. I've created a bootable CD image that
contains the tools you need to make space for DOS on a
WindowsXP disk, a multi-boot loader, and a bootable FreeDOS
disk image. The download is an ISO image that can be
burned to a bootable CD and is less than 40 MBytes.
I have provided detailed directions.
With this, you can install FreeDOS on almost any WindowsXP
computer in under an hour. There are instructions for
installing MS-DOS if you would rather use that, but you
will have do download an MS-DOS floppy disk image and put
it on a floppy disk or CD.
FreeDOS will run DOS contest loggers and utilities and most
DOS games.
You can get the directions at http://odin.fdos.org/dual/
http://odin.fdos.org/dual/fdinst09.pdf
and the CD ISO image at
http://odin.fdos.org/dual/fdinst09.iso.
The image must be burned as a bootable disk image to a CD. If
you see the file fdinst09.iso on the CD, you burned it wrong.
If you try this, please let me know of any comments or
suggestions you have to improve the procedure. This
is an updated version of my previous procedures which
uses the single CD. And, this CD is a MUCH smaller download.

Mark, KD4D
