I'm not an SO2R op here and I am against making it a separate category.
SO2R requires a great deal of skill and I know that simply adding the other
radio would make my score go down--not up. I would be interested to see
how many of you campaigning for a separate category for SO2R would really
find it to be an advantage. The numbers would be low, I think. The initial
scores for most who try it are lower, until their OJT raises their skill
level.
And that is it, isn't it. In actuality we are talking about skill here--not
hardware. For most, SO1R will get you a higher score, if not more mults.
Only the best can make SO2R work for them, and guess what? They are going
to be on top anyway.
OK, now it's back to the antenna work. (Don't tell anybody, but that's
where the real difference is anyway) I sure am glad so many of you are in
here arguing instead of working on them!
