When 10 was open in contests, they were everywhere and I have piles of QSL's
to prove the point. (All replied to!) Just got back from two weeks in JA. Spent a couple of hours on the fast train from Tokyo to the south end of the track and again from Kyoto to Osaka. Shot maybe a dozen pics from the train of Ham antennas along the way. All well below the mountain tops. Many 2 meter yagis vertical. Many tri-banders right at the roof top and a few V mounted vertical pairs. Of course, the big boys would have had better locations. None as good as even the most casual antennas in our small town. At a couple of Ham stores in Akihabara (sp) I played with the keyers sending "de N0UU" more than a few times at various speeds. Audible all over the stores. No one came over and said "Hello". The JAs are there, just need the propagation back. Hope we all live long enough. Just back from the weather disaster movie. "That's Incredible!" Anyone ever hear of a Schmitt trigger? N0UU
