Hi All...
Thanks for all the contacts and support of the GQP this past weekend. I will
try to work on getting more fixed station activity for next year. John,
K4BAI and myself were very pleased with our effort. K4BAI should be putting out
a complete report on 3830 in a day or so.
Unfortunately, our effort (along with N4PN/m) started in the parking lot of
the L.W McDonald Funeral Home in Cumming, GA at the W4AN memorial service. John
and I were probably one of the last to leave because we needed to change into
more comfortable clothes and then get the final configuration of the antennas
ready. Bill's mom and dad came over and chatted with us while we were setting
up and we explained the contest and the antennas/radios in the car to them.
They really gave me the impression that the support of the contest community
really helped them cope somewhat with this terrible tragedy. They never knew
about all the "radio" friends that Bill had and the scope of it all..
I would also be interested in commments about our rover signal. I had a
different antenna configuration this time from the past. We sensed that we were
getting out pretty good but I would be interested in how we compared to the
other rovers. John and I will be out again in the FQP as K4BAI/m in a couple
weeks...
