It just doesn't happen on 40M. I was mostly on 15M during the contest,
however, I occasionally went over to the 160M station when it wasn't occupied
and I was still conscious. I had to laugh at an exchange I heard. A non-US
station was CQ'ing below 1843, I think it was around 1834. Someone popped on
frequency and asked the station to come up to 1850-something and work him. The
DX said, why not work here? The US station started in on the band plan. The
DX wouldn't move. This exchange lasted a couple of minutes. No contest QSO was
completed, but I got a good chuckle before I went to sleep.
