I have been reading LOTW questions & comments on several mailing lists and
there doesn't seem to be a consensus. I know a guy who live 5 miles from me
who is going to upload everything from 1945. He recently completed inputting
'ALL' his paper logs into his computer. I do know, first-hand, of a dozen
other guys, like me, who are uploading from 2000 on. It is hard to make a
firm decision because we don't know the particulars on how LOTW will be
integrated into the present awards system.
At this point in time whatever you do won't be wrong.

Subject: [CQ-Contest] LOTW question
How far back are you going to upload logs to LOTW? I definitely don't
want to do old paper logs. And converting old ct-7/8 logs then signing
them for my old call seems like a lot of work, and for at least part of
that time I was preemptively qsling via the buro anyway. If I go back
to 1996 when I got this call that would overlap the preemptive qsl
period which I quit in the spring of 2000 by a couple years. I guess
the real question is, how far back are others going to be uploading logs
looking for matches to mine???
