Barry,

Does not one detect a rather dry touch of humor there? <g>

Aside from that, to be serious for a moment, I have sometimes in the past
been muchly annoyed when a M/M or M/2 station has asked me to switch bands
so that they could work me elsewhere. Not so much for the request itself,
but because most often they throw the other frequency(s) at me so quickly
and then move on to the next QSO. Second most often is the fact that it
would take a few seconds on my TS140 to switch VFO's and get up to the right
frequency... only to find the that the other transmitter had ALREADY been
calling me (thanks to the wonders of computer networking), didn't hear me
instantaneously, then gave up. (I was once told in that situation that I
need to invest in a "modern" radio with a computer interface. Hmmm. So the
solution to his impatience was my spending loads of $ I don't have for a
radio I don't need?)

There is a simple solution for that problem. Just say "maybe later!" And
even then, I sometimes have had the M/M station stop for a moment and give
me an argument (now, it's one thing if this is within the last few hours of
the contest and everyone's begging for more contacts, but it's another if
the 'test is only a few hours old). I don't argue, I just move along... and
think of Contestiata.

Not only do they hog the band edges all weekend, but they move
stations to another band when you want to work them!
