Since we're about 1 month away, I felt
appropriate to let folks know about this.
This is NOT the official announcement, just a
summary.

Details on the website - logsheets, multiplier
sheets, details on rules, submittal deadlines,
frequencies, awards, etc.
BASIC INFO.
WHAT - 2003 Maryland DC QSO Party
SPONSOR - The Antietam Radio Association, Inc.
(holder of W3CWC)
INFO URL - http://www.w3cwc.org/ (click on MDC
QSO PARTY on left side of screen)
DATES/TIMES - Sat 09 August 03 - 1600-0400 UTC
Sun 10 August 03 - 1600-2359 UTC
CATEGORIES - Club, Mobile, QRP, Technician, and
Standard.
EXCHANGE - QTH and Major Category (QTH is County
for Maryland & DC; State, Country, or Canadian
Province for others. Major Categories are Club,
Mobile, QRP, Technician, and Standard. Multi-op
stations also considered. )
RESTRICTIONS - Non-MDC stations must be single
operator even if from a club station (Multi-op
are considered CLUB categories).
No formal net or packet contacts.
Club entries must be from a single QTH and single
callsign.
Club entries outside MDC are included in the
regular NON-MDC category.
Phone and CW are one contest. CW in CW sub-bands
only.
Stations may be worked once per band
using each mode, except those MDC mobiles who
change Counties during contest.)
WRINKLES - Stations that change MD counties or
state lines may be worked again for qso points as
different stations!
SCORING - QSO points: CLUB - 10 points, MOBILE -
5 points, QRP/US TECH - 4 points, CW/DIGITAL - 3
points, SSB/OTHERS - 1 point.
