I don't mind it from Jim because, well, he's JIM, if you know what I mean.
We ALL have family members we're embarrassed to admit to.

:)

But seriously: Jim has done a fabulous, creative, brilliant job of promoting
the FQP. But I think if everyone did what Jim does, it would be TOO MUCH.

So, I think contest announcements should either be limited or eliminated,
knowing very well that this won't stop Jim from finding a different
fabulous, brilliant creative way to promote his beloved FQP.

Point of clarification: I think the limitation should apply to actual
announcements of the events. Frankly that should go for all events getting
treated the same across the board. I DO NOT THINK Jim should be stopped
from mentioning the FQP in passing as he does so artfully, nor should anyone
else be limited from those sorts of "comments" (to be differentiated from
"announcements").

Perhaps this is a huge gray area nobody can figure out how to handle. I
don't think it's a crisis. I think if everyone else accepted the challenge
of out-PRing the FQP we would then have a handle on exactly how "bad" it
really was if indeed it is bad at all. Like others I am quick with the
Delete key.
