The South East Contest Club and the Southeastern DX Club announce the
annual Georgia QSO Party on the weekend of April 12-13. Rules may be
found at gqp.contesting.com. If last year's results are not yet up on
the site, they will be soon.
The contest has been moved from July to April in response to complaints
about weather and summer band conditions. Georgia has 159 counties,
only second in that regard to Texas.
There will be a lot of Georgia activity that weekend and many mobiles to
chase from county to county. Georgia welcomes visitors to the state to
help us give out contacts during the Party. Mobiles and rovers should
advise Jeff, KU8E, of their plans and he will post them on the website.
His e-mail address is ku8e@bellsouth.net.
There are certificates and awards for US and DX stations in three power
categories: QRP, LP, and HP. The rules give multiplier credit on each
mode to encourage operating on both modes, but there are some CW only
plaques being offered.
Hope many of you will join in the fun of the 2003 GQP, Apri 12 and 13,
2003.
73,
John, K4BAI.
