Even in ASCII land, there are also 3 ASCII line ending conventions:
<cr><lf> - PC
<cr> - Mac
<lf> - Unix/Linux
...and what convention is acceptable is never specified, though
anything other than the first seems to confuse folks.
Too bad it looks like it may take another 10 years just to cut over
to Cabrillo, so an XML format that would let the ham community
leverage all the pre-existing (validating) parsers, databases and
development/reporting/publishing/syndication tools for that is out of
the question at this adoption rate.
