Henry,
I have eight W9XT cards here. Tying the mic and PTT grounds together will
not hurt anything, but may cause hum on the transmitted signal. This is
usually a radio issue (ICOMs are particularly sensitive to this), but if
the Omni has a common ground, then it should be OK.
