It seems most (I didn't say ALL) of the guys who advocate SO2R
be a new category have never operated SO2R. They have the
misconception that it's a simple hardware addition. Well guys it's
not. I consider myself a pretty accomplished CW op. It's not easy
to copy from 2 radios at the same time. There have been plenty of
times when I've slowed down my run by missing an easy call on
my run station because I was distracted by radio #2. That's what
takes LOTS of skill to learn to do well. SO2R is first a higher level
of operator skill, and second some extra hardware.
