Reminds me of a story I heard.

Evidently, Peter Townshend once said he considered Ray Davies to be a
genius.  Ray, upon hearing that, said something like "Pete and I are great
friends and I appreciate  the thought.  But there's not a lot I can do
with it.  I mean, I can't go into a restaurant and say 'I'm a genius - can
I have a free breakfast?'"
