For the past few years, it's been difficult for me to stay awake and alert in
contests like CQ WW. However, earlier this year I went to a low sugar diet,
and my energy and ability to stay awake for long periods of time has
increased substantially. I don't know the medical reasons for it, but it has
helped me, and I am not diabetic.
This year in WW, I operated for 41 of 45 hours of the contest then drove
home at 2100 Sunday from WX0B to my home in Houston which is a 3 1/2 hour
drive with no difficulties staying awake. Also, this year in SS, I felt more
alert and stronger throughout this dull contest than in several years past.
At age 50, I'll take anything thrown my way !!
