When life gets too complicated, just go to the fridg and get a cold
one. Then, if you won't get arrested by the police and sent to the
slammer for breaking the rules, just get goin' and use the rules like
you think they musta meant, plus or minus five percent. That even
works for the IRS. They'll send you a letter and tell you what they
meant.
Otherwise, use the confounded corky compromise method...

Get on on the 7th or the 8th. Put TR on practice mode and let it key
your rig. If anyone asks you what you're doing, tell them you're
making qso's using the deferred method. Be sure and send in the log.
>2. Is it okay to send my grid of EN99 in the ARRL DX contest as ENNN?
No. Use 19NN.

More than you would have had. Put -3 in the qso points column. See if
your log checking program knows what to do with it.

Only if he calls up ARRL and says he really didn't work you at xxxxZ
on xx/xx/xx, or sends in a log with no entries.

Send "I" or "J" depending on what you did most.
>What if I was B power and my amplifier dies.
Send "B-"
>6. If I live on the boundary line of two grids - which should I send?

Send the outer letters from one and the inner letters from the other.

Neither. Work through the whole contest, but mark all the contacts in
the first 45 minutes as dups. Work them all again later in the
contest. Tell the other stations it's a dup.

Edit the time in the log to 0129.5, and leave a note for the scorers
to round up.

Ask for the fill before the contest ends, and only use the part of the
correction sent before the end. If it's CW and part of the letter sent
falls after the contest end, use only the dit's and dah's sent before
the end of the contest. Put in a note in the log that it's only a
partial correction, so if it's wrong, you should only get a partial
penalty. Threaten to never work the contest again if you get a whole
penalty.
>10. If I work a guy in the NAQP and notice that I had his name wrong

What makes you think you got it right the second time?
> After the contest?
Put his call sign in the name field.
>11. If a station across town puts packet spots on the cluster that say

Only if you enjoyed working the pileup.
> What if he did it 3000 times during the weekend?
Go let the air out of his tires. Send in your log with his call sign
and summary data. Put in a note that you heard through the grapevine
that someone was going to send in a fake log for you. Use the TRlog
practice feature to generate another log for you. Send it in as well.
>12. Are duplicate QSOs eligible to be sent as QTCs in the WAE?
Only if you send them twice.
>13. Is it okay to ask someone to QSY to another band in the Sprint if
>I called CQ but the station who answered me was a dupe.
Only if you QSY to a WARC band.
>14. In the sprint, if I answer a CQ and then take over the frequency,

Only if you're married and use your wife's call sign.
Otherwise QSY to a WARC band.
>15. Why isn't there an assisted category in the sprints?
'Cause there's no help for that contest?
